About

I’m Dr. Jessica Mooney, an occupational therapist with over two decades of experience as a clinician, supervisor, and consultant. In addition to my OT degree, I hold a master’s degree in Infant Mental Health and Early Childhood Development and a PhD in Early Childhood Development with an emphasis on childhood mental health.

I’m also a mom of five boys (including triplets), and my work is profoundly shaped by lived experience—including parenting an autistic child. When traditional school wasn’t a good fit for my son, I found myself unexpectedly homeschooling. That journey transformed how I understand regulation, learning, and the importance of neurodiversity-affirming care. It also made me a fierce advocate for systems that better support neurodivergent kids and their families.

I provide services for children and their families in a variety of ways, including in-clinic therapy, virtual consultations, parent coaching, and homeschooling support. My work is guided by DIR/Floortime, sensory integration, and current neuroscience. I believe parents are the experts on their children, and it is a privilege to come alongside parents and caregivers to look beneath surface behaviors to understand what the nervous system is communicating and to build practical, evidence-based supports that fit real life. My goal is for families to feel heard and confident in supporting and advocating for their children, and for children to feel heard and confident so they can reach their full potential and feel good about who they are, exactly as they are wired

In my free time, I love being in nature, skiing with my family, and spending time with my dog, Teddy. I also love to paint and frequently incorporate art into OT sessions, as I find it an amazing way to express oneself, process emotions, and develop skills such as bilateral integration, fine motor control, and motor planning.
